April 2024 - Windy, sunny, showery and birthday.

This month, I turned three years old. I didn't even get a haircut as a present. The humans treated my big day like any other. There was no birthday cake or visits to Pawz & Co. I felt let down.

This isn't even my bed.

They did take me to a couple of new places, but both times, it rained. The weatherman said it was the wettest April on record in Scotland. I can vouch for that, although I do remember lots of sunshine too.

The Man took me to the Gleniffer Country Park again, where I ate lots of delicious grass. It later made me sick so I got to eat my breakfast all over again, this time from the living room carpet. I left the strands of grass. As a starter, it's fine, but I'm not keen on it when it's regurgitated garnish. The Woman needed to get her carpet cleaner out, much to the Man's dismay when he lay on the damp floor to do his back exercises.

We also went to Bellahouston Park because the Man wanted to see where the cafe was. It rained so heavily that we ended up inside the cafe for shelter. The man ate a roll and sausage, and the Woman had a scone, both of them having drinks too. I never got anything, despite attracting the waiter over with my trademark tail wag and big brown eyes. Maybe next time...

We also went to Thornly Park to explore the walks there. I spotted something on the hill.

They were far away

Needless to say, I gave chase, ignoring the Woman's recall whistle. By the time I reached the brow of the hill, they were long gone. Only then did I rush back. She gives me a luxury treat after a whistle blow, so it's always worth the effort.

They call this 'drookit'.

I also got wet at Saltcoats Beach. It's been a while, and I forgot how wet the sea can be. It was nice to see Rusty again. He wasn't allowed to join us at the cabin last month.

I love the sun. I'll take every chance to lie in it, even if it's only a sliver.

On a sunny day, I stand at the back door to let the humans know I want out. Then I head to the summerhouse and stand at its doors until they bring out their books and cups of tea or coffee and we go inside to enjoy the fine weather together. If it rains, the roof keeps me dry. It's fantastic. I usually jump on the couch, except when they have a camera handy, and then I lie on the floor like a good girl
.

If the Woman doesn't want me playing with her plant pots
maybe she'll remember to buy me a birthday present next year.

February 2026 - Shorn Like a Sheep

I was beginning to look like a Wookie, so a haircut was long overdue. However, I wasn't expecting quite so dramatic a transformation. Po...
