August 2023 - a quiet month

August brought a mixed bag of weather, from glorious sunshine and summer heat to torrential rain and flash flooding. I preferred relaxing on the cool mat to getting drenched.

I did have one scary moment when Lou's Newfoundlands laid siege to our cabin after I'd objected to their barking with some of my own.  I think they misread the signals and thought I was inviting them for supper. I hid on the couch out of sight until they, having surrounded our decking on three fronts, went away.

We went on a jolly to a local park we'd never been to before - Jenny's Well Nature Reserve. The graffiti was pretty but I didn't rate the slug wildlife, even if the humans were excited to see a heron on a bridge.

Other than that it's been a quiet month, with only one trip away to the east coast but we didn't take any pictures there because of the rain. It was a long drive to walk around a housing estate and get turned away from a dog-friendly restaurant because they were fully booked. I expect better from my humans.

Here are some pics of me relaxing.

I get better scraps if I rest my head on his lap
ie below his mouth for when he misses

I think this new bed is defective

This one is okay though

I'm not allowed to show the nieces' faces until they're older.
I don't know why they'd want older faces.

Molly trying to steal my limelight

I always find a quiet spot at Paws&Co

But make room for my pals
