November 2023 - Four Baths and a Haircut

I firmly believe that dogs should be allowed to choose how their coats smell. So what if I like to carry a little extra fragrance around my neck. It's not a crime.

The humans held a different view. So...

I rolled on flattened dog poo under a bush in Glenburn Country Park.
Result: bath.

I rolled on a fragrant fox poo in the field in Aberfoyle.
Result: bath.

I wriggled on a poo camouflaged by fallen leaves in Barshaw Park.
Result: bath.

I got a haircut.
Result: bath.

A dog should not get four baths in one month. Especially in winter. I wasn't happy. Afterwards, on two occasions, I expressed my disapproval by peeing on the floor.

If the humans love giving baths so much, they can do the carpet too.

I have to admit, though, I did love my trim. Thank you, Michelle @Pawz&Co Groom Room.

We've had Rusty staying with us all month. His owner (the Woman's Mum) has not been well, so we helped her out by taking him in. He can be grumpy when it's cold, wet or windy. He's a lot older than me and likes to throw his weight around, despite being smaller, so I tend to avoid him when he's in a mood. One time, he decided he wanted the living room to himself and no one else was allowed in. He didn't get another filled Kong toy after that.

Mostly, he has been fine, though. I've been getting to go to Pawz&Co more often and up to the cabin sometimes at weekends.

The pond was frozen one day. All the ducks had to swim in a tiny gap near the overhanging tree where the ice had not formed. The falling leaves made a funny sound as they flitted across the ice carried by the wind.

We found lots of fruitflies bouncing off the windows inside the cabin. The Man got frustrated trying to remove them all. He even went as far as evicting a workshy spider that was spending her entire day in the bath. If they won't work for their free meals and lodgings, they've got to go, he said. I gave him extra attention in case I got thrown out too. I made him watch movies with me on the couch instead of playing on his computer.

The one thing the Woman insisted on before we left was to make sure he brought back my Equafleece from the cabin. The weather was expected to turn chilly so I would need it to wear at Pawz&Co.

He forgot it and had to order me a new one. Fortunately, it came quickly.

It makes me look like a doorstop.
