July 2025 - A Quiet Month Relaxing at Home

July continued to be a scorcher. We didn't make any long trips in the car in case the journey baked us, so most of our walks took place locally. We stayed at home in Paisley all month (no air conditioning at the cabin).

Poppy takes a big drink.

Poppy wanted to be called Petal after this.

Poppy, the dog lizard.

The water was as deep as my knees before Poppy had her drink.

I love this heat!

Look into my eyes.
You will give me tickles.

Looks like no rain again today. Yippee!

Poppy had her first haircut. Not that you could tell.

Before: "I've been brought here under false pretences."

After - "How could you? I thought you loved me."

Poppy continues to want to eat my poo. At its worst, the Man describes her as the Doggy Centipede (where she's waiting to receive my poo from its source). I don't know why she finds my fresh poo so tasty. We eat the same food. Maybe it's an extension of her love for me. Or she's just nuts. Probably the latter.

The Man deserted us for almost a week while he headed to Maidstone for the Maid of Stone Festival. Upon his return, he announced he was leaving us again to travel to Edinburgh to see two women: Bobbie Dazzle and Alice Cooper. I'm surprised the Woman hasn't thrown him out.

Will she be my new stepmom?
(background laughter from the Woman)

As Poppy had destroyed my old bed, the one in the living room, the humans bought me a new one. It's big, it's heavy, and, so far, it hasn't had any holes chewed in it.

I love my new bed

Poppy reacted in the only way she knows how: badly.

She squatted in my nighttime bed.

She jumped on the furniture.

She wanted to race me to the bed: winner takes all.

She lost, but wouldn't accept the decision.

Sorry that there were no photos of exotic places this month. I'm going to make sure the humans do better next month.

She gets jealous whenever I chew a toy.

"Look, I can fly."

I love it when the Man crops out Poppy.

Touche!
