September 2023 - Warm then Wet

September was a month of two halves.

The first half was warm and sunny. The time we spent at the cabin was great. The humans brought out the cool mat, and Molly came along too (she's small but that doesn't stop her wanting to be the centre of attention).

I'm not sharing the cool mat,
no matter how small she is.

I got to paddle in the sea at West Kilbride,

This is as deep as I'll go.
I don't want to ruin my coat.

but not at the Dams to Darnley.

I'm not allowed in there...

or there.

We spent one glorious morning at Newlands Park on the Southside of Glasgow.

I stopped to smell the flowers.

The place was packed with designer pooches and their posh owners.
As the park was so small and all the dogs were on the lead, I couldn't understand the appeal.

Until we arrived at the Dandelion Cafe.

The view of all the tennis balls was fantastic, although I'm not sure why none of the dogs were allowed on the court to play with them. Maybe you had to book.

We managed to snag the last table on the cafe's porch, where I discovered another reason for the park's appeal. Perfect for a warm day, the cafe sold delicious dog ice cream (I don't think it's dog flavour - just suitable for canines). The Labrador was not for sharing, however, despite my whines and stares.

Pleaaaaase?

Oh well, maybe I can have what they're having instead

Then the weather changed.

Rain, wind and thunder meant I had to play indoors, for example, with the Woman's new dress, which I helpfully removed from her shopping bag. It still had that shop-fresh smell.

I don't think this is my size... yet.

To distract me from the dress and the bad weather, she rewarded me with a new toy.

It's a paw rest

and a chin rest.

Just a paw to remind you that I'm here
if there are any more presents going spare.

  1. Millie neglected to mention that one of the reasons she was kept in this month was because she had a mild case of kennel cough. Funny how she forgets these things so quickly.

I was beginning to look like a Wookie, so a haircut was long overdue. However, I wasn't expecting quite so dramatic a transformation. Po...
